What is your Blood Group ? Every person should know about this.

Whenever we go to our Doctor, they usually ask about our blood group or even in our some important ID cards, We mention our blood group. Thanks to Karl Landsteiner of Austria who was awarded Nobel Prize in 1930 for his excellent contribution in Physiology for their discovery of human blood groups.

Because of this great medical professional , today we are able to know our blood group as A,B,AB and O.

There are 8 Blood Groups - A+, A-, B+,B-, AB+, AB-, O+, O- and the +/- depends on Rh factor. Rh factor found on the red blood cell's surface. This is also an antigen and those who have it are called Rh+. Those who haven't are called Rh-. This Rh factor decides the +/-.

Interesting and useful things to know about Blood group
-AB can give blood to AB but receive from AB,A,B and O
-A can receive from A & O but can give to A and AB
-B can receive from B & O but can give only to B & AB.
-O can receive only from O but can give to all. O is known as universal donor but unfortunately can receive from Only O.

Suggestive diet charts as per blood group-

A Blood Group Holder- They should try eat fruits and vegetables and avoid the dairy products.
B Blood Group Holder - They should try to eat balanced diet which includes fruits and vegetables, grains, fish, dairy, meat etc.
AB Blood group holder - They should try to eat vegetarian diet and can go for dairy and non-veg diet once in a while.

What is Brainstorming and how it should be conducted ?

Brainstorming is an excellent technique of developing many creative solutions to a complex problem. It works by focusing on a problem, and then coming up with  many radical solutions to it. Ideas should deliberately be pragmatic or non-pragmatic , and should be developed as fast as possible. Brainstorming is a lateral thinking process - it is designed to help you break out of your thinking patterns into new ways of looking at things.
Call all the participants in a conference room and arrange a “ Brainstorming” session with a clear problem.
It can be defined as “ A brain storming activity that is well executed should result in some very unusual ideas that is the underlying purpose for resolving the given problem.”
Some points must remember during the brainstorming session –
• During brainstorming sessions there should be no criticism of ideas - you are trying to open possibilities and break down wrong assumptions about the limits of the problem. Judgment and analysis at this stage will stunt idea generation.
• Ideas should only be evaluated once the brainstorming session has finished - you can then explore solutions further using conventional approaches.
• Define the problem you want solved clearly, and lay out any criteria to be met.
• Keep the session focused on the problem and try to avoid the biasedness.
• Ensure that no-one criticizes or evaluates ideas during the session. Criticism introduces an element of risk for group members when putting forward an idea. This stifles creativity and cripples the free running nature of a good brainstorming session.
• Encourage an enthusiastic, uncritical attitude among members of the group. Try to get everyone to contribute and develop ideas, including the quietest members of the group and don’t ignore the suggestion of any member whether he is technical or non-technical.
• Let people have fun brainstorming. Encourage them to come up with as many ideas as possible, from solidly practical ones to wildly impractical ones. Welcome creativity.
• Ensure that no train of thought is followed for too long
• Encourage people to develop other people's ideas, or to use other ideas to create new ones
• Appoint one person to note down ideas that come out of the session. A good way of doing this is to use a flip chart. This should be studied and evaluated after the session. Brainstorming can give you some radical solution to any complex problem and it is very effective technique , management is using to take the best use of it to extract the best from the possible or available resources.

What is difference between Precision and Accuracy ?

For any ordinary man , both the terms are equivalent but for those have an analytical brain, both the terms are very different.
Accuracy is actually closeness of agreement between observed value and known reference standard. In mathematical or statistical terms , it is also known as the central tendency which can be calculated as mean, mode and median.

But precision is the measure of dispersion between several individual observations of relevant quality characteristics. Precision describes consistency of the process and it is calculated by range and Standard deviation.

Little bit confuse? Let me explain......

Suppose you are an archer or a shooter and you have to hit a target or a circle. If your bullets or arrow are not hitting the exact target but all the bullets or arrows are just hitting outside the target but all are in a same portion , it means you are précised on the target but if your bullets or arrows are near by target but all are scattered into different direction of the target , it is accuracy. if you hit the target, It is accurate and précised.

Golden Rules of Career Planning .......

1. Learning must be continous
Life-long learning is your keyword.
2. ALL (Ask, Listen And Learn)
A good listener can learn a lot. Listen to your co-workers, your boss, and your superiors. You can learn a lot from their experience. Most people will love to be your free tutor.
3. Do your best with your Current Job
Your current job might be best place to start your career. It is often very little that separates successful people from the average. But nothing comes free. If you do your job well and fulfill your responsibilities, this is often the best way to start a new career.
4. Start developing your Network
Your next career step might arise from your contact network. Spend some time building new contacts, and don't forget to maintain the ones you already have.
5. Identification of Current Job
Your current job should be identified, not assumed. When you start in a new job, talk to your superior about your priorities. If you're not sure about what is most important, then ask him. And ask him again. Often you will be surprised about the differences between what you assume, and what is really important.
6. Keep targetting for Next Job
Your dream job must be identified. Before you start planning your future career, be sure you have identified your dream job. Before building your future career your goal must be identified.
7. Armed Yourself
Your dream might show up tomorrow. Be prepared. Don't wait a second. Update your CV now, and continue to update it regularly.
8. Pick The Right Tools & add new skills
Pick the tools you can handle. You can build your future career using a lot of different tools. Studying at W3Schools is easy. Taking a full master degree is more complicated.
9. Realize Your Dreams
Put your dreams into action. If you have plans about taking more education, getting a better job, starting your own company or something else, you should not use your daily job as a "waiting station". Your daily job will get more and more busy, you will be caught up in the rat race, and you will burn up your energy.
If you have this energy, you should use it now, to realize your dreams.
Practice these rules and see the changes in your life.........

Do you know about your IA's - Inborn Assets ?

IA’s are the inborn assets of an individual. Everybody is blessed with some qualities by the grace of the god. Every individual have some IA’s.. IA’s is the acronym of Inborn assets. We often see in any child , there are some qualities which we praise in his childhood. But the question is- How many people utilize their IA’s in their career. I know one person who is very good in literature but his parents forced him to join engineering and today he is an engineer but not satisfied with this current assignment whenever he got the chance of playing with the words, he never missed the opportunities. He is today a very famous columnist in a leading newspaper along with his job in a company. My means to illustrate the example is – don’t suppress your IA’s , explore them. I also believe that an individual has some circumstances where he was not able to utilize their assets but atleast, he has to try to not killed them entirely. Whatever you are doing , doesn’t matter, and if it is as per your interest and accord, you are really blessed but if you are not doing as per your accord but you have to do it for many reason, don’t worry, try to put you legs into your favorite area. Whenever you have got a chance and possibility to show case your talent , do it and explore your wings. Nobody knows when your luck can take a sheer veer. These inborn assets are very helpful to anybody to cherish their life. Know your assets and make your life more easier and enjoy life in every way. Take the best from the life and be assure, life is ready to give you the best. This is an old saying that if you decide to achieve something and you are determined to do it, whole the nature make a conspiracy against you to fulfill your requirements. This is how, most of the great people succeeded in their life. The only thing they have done in their life is – they did take the risk in every step and nature and God always helped them in every small step. So, go ahead and there are many milestones are waiting for you here and there.
Thanks for reading , I will be back………………………….Till then , enjoy this beautiful itinerary of life...........

Respect your email Inbox......

Email is an efficient communication tool. But managing the email inbox be challenging at times. Followings are the lists of four email management tips to help you reduce inbox congestion and frustration:
A. Take immediate action when you receive an email. Whenever you open an email, resolve to take one of the following four actions:
1. Delete/Archive: If the email requires no action, then either delete it or archive it
2. Reply: If you can quickly respond to the email, do it so you can delete or archive the
email.
3. Forward: If there's a more appropriate person to respond to the email, forward it on to
them.
b) If you're returning to your inbox after a few days away, try sorting your inbox by sender to identify chains of emails from the same people and to respond to the most current email in each chain.
C) . Respect other people's inboxes.
●Don't CC people unnecessarily.
●Don’t reply to all if the reply is only relevant to one or two of the people on the email.
●Make it easy for recipients to act on your emails by using subject lines that are descriptive and specific like "FYI:," "Reminder:", "Urgent:" and "Action Needed:" to help recipients quickly understand if action is needed and if so, how quickly.
●If you know that a coworker is out of town, don't send them email. Instead, save those emails as drafts and set a reminder to send them once the person returns.

Motivation is not enough to drive the quality culture of work ……..

People are the best assets of any organization and when these living assets attach themselves with the company’s goals , there is a definite chance that company will grow in many folds.

People are getting motivated by many means but motivation has its limitations. Any organization who are really keen to retain the best talent in their organization, they have to develop a culture of Inspiration.

When you tell to any employee that you are paying for your job , it force him/her to do only a job but when you say to your employee that you are paying for a job which is actually a contribution of yourself towards society then he /she gets inspired.

I don’t say that we are making a good product rather I say to my team members that We are making a world class product and when we see this product anywhere we have to be proud that we made this product.

This drives the quality culture in company and everybody from top to bottom starts their work in a different approach.
My mantra is :
1) Employees are the best assets of any company , retain them.
2) Inspired them to get  their job.
3) Set your own example being a leader and guide them.

Where is the scope of Continual Improvement ?

Whatever you are doing, there is always a scope of improvement.
Like if you are an office goers and handling some projects or duties in your office then you can think about Business process standardisation.

Business process standardization and simplification reduce the cost of operation as well as the efficiency of the employee. It is necessary in today’s competitive world to make the business process at par with the industry standard and to make it so simple and friendly to process it faster and faster. There are ten golden rules which need to be checked in any business process to make it smooth.

1-Bureaucracy elimination-Reducing the unnecessary paper works, Authorization etc.

This is the area where you can look for the improvements in unnecessary paper work or authorisation needed to perform any work or activities which actually not having any sense but it delays the work.  There are several incidents in any company or organisation where paper work is a necessity due to the system from a long time.   These can be eliminated and it will save time and speed up the work

2-Duplication elimination - Reducing the repeating exercise which does not add any value.
Many times in an organisation , there is a practise of cross checking of things for a similar jobs which increase the lead time of a work.  These activities can be easily identified and can be eliminated from the system.

3-Simplification -Simplifying the process and avoid the complexity of the process.
There are some processes which are very complex and work goes one table to another table or one stage to another stage which decrease the productive time.  These processes can be taken as a project to simplify them.

4-Process cycle time reduction-Reducing the cycle time of an activity.
If any activity take more time then it can be taken as an improvement point to reduce its turn around time ( TAT).   First, in this type of improvement the cycle time of completion of any activity to be noted down and then improvements can done after applying some changes.  The reduced time is the fruit of these type of improvement.

The best example of Simplification and process cycle time reduction is Installation of ATM machine by Banks.  Now, you can imagine – How this improvement made a significant impact in the working of Banks as well as to the customers.

5-Error proofing -To make it pokayoke and fool proof.
There are some processed which requires fool proofing.  The example of this type of improvement is biometric attendance system which eliminates the wrong / superficies card punching.

6-Upgrading - Simple language Understandable by all.
There are some processes laid down in the companies which are either old fashioned or not upto the mark needs up gradation which can be developed in such a manner that every user can understand them.

7-Standardization -Standardization of a process.
This is the area where many companies are struggling. Standardisation of the process is the requirement of today’s world.  Customised solutions can work for a little time, but , in longer run, every company requires standardisation of the processes.  The main advantage of the standardisation of the processes or activities is – it reduces the individualistic dependency.

8-Supplier partnership - Best input gives the best output.
In any organisation’s success, the supplier beneficial supplier relationship plays a vital role.  Supplier includes internal customers as well as external.  There are some projects can be taken which make the supplier partnership more strong in the benefit of the organisation.

9-Big picture improvement -Drastically changing the process. To
    select a   different route.
This type of projects are comes from out of box thinking.  These improvements projects are needed in company for changing an old practise into new one.  But the execution of these types of improvements is critical.

10-Automation / Mechanism -Automation of manual work
      through computerization
Automation is the demand of this modern era.  There are many activities can be automated through machines / computers to eliminate the human interface.

You can choose any project of continual improvement from above category and excel in your professional life.

SMART Objectives- A Brief

SMART Goals :  Goal setting plays an important role in anybody’s life because this gives you the direction to move forward.
OK ! Goals should be set but how Goals can be set.

Answer is : Goal whether it is professional , personal , spiritual , it should be SMART......
S- Specific
M-Measurable
A-Achievable / Assignable
R- Realstic
T-Time bound
Generally there are four types of goals : Professional Goals, Personal Goals , Economic Goals and Spiritual Goals.  All these goals should be follow the SMART Rules of Goals.

Can you elaborate the SMART Goals ?  Yes.  Now we will understand the SMART Parameters one by one.

S-Specific :
The criterion stresses the need for a specific goal rather than a more general one. This means the goal is clear and unambiguous; without vagaries and platitudes. To make goals specific, they must tell a team exactly what is expected, why is it important, who’s involved, where is it going to happen and which attributes are important.
A specific goal will usually answer the five "W" questions:
-What: What do I want to accomplish?
-Why: Specific reasons, purpose or benefits of accomplishing the goal.
-Who: Who is involved?
-Where: Identify a location.
-Which: Identify requirements and constraints.

M-Measurable :
The second criterion stresses the need for concrete criteria for measuring progress toward the attainment of the goal. The thought behind this is that if a goal is not measurable, it is not possible to know whether a team is making progress toward successful completion. Measuring progress is supposed to help a team stay on track, reach its target dates, and experience the exhilaration of achievement that spurs it on to continued effort required to reach the ultimate goal.
A measurable goal will usually answer questions such as:
·         How much?
·         How many?
·         How will I know when it is accomplished?
·         Indicators should be quantifiable

     A-   Achievable/ Assignable :
·         The third criterion stresses the importance of goals that are realistic and attainable. While an attainable goal may stretch a team in order to achieve it, the goal is not extreme. That is, the goals are neither out of reach nor below standard performance, as these may be considered meaningless. When you identify goals that are most important to you, you begin to figure out ways you can make them come true. You develop the attitudes, abilities, skills, and financial capacity to reach them. The theory states that an attainable goal may cause goal-setters to identify previously overlooked opportunities to bring themselves closer to the achievement of their goals.
An Achievable goal will usually answer the question:
·         How: How can the goal be accomplished?

 R-Realstic :
The fourth criterion stresses the importance of choosing goals that matter. Many times you will need support to accomplish a goal: resources, a champion voice, someone to knock down obstacles. Goals that are relevant to your boss, your team, your organization will receive that needed support.
Relevant goals (when met) drive the team, department, and organization forward. A goal that supports or is in alignment with other goals would be considered a relevant goal.
A relevant goal can answer yes to these questions:
·         Does this seem worthwhile?
·         Is this the right time?
·         Does this match our other efforts/needs?
·         Are you the right person?
·         Is it applicable in current socio- economic- technical environment?

     T-Time Bound :
The fifth criterion stresses the importance of grounding goals within a time frame, giving them a target date. A commitment to a deadline helps a team focus their efforts on completion of the goal on or before the due date. This part of the SMART goal criteria is intended to prevent goals from being overtaken by the day-to-day crises that invariably arise in an organization. A time-bound goal is intended to establish a sense of urgency.
A time-bound goal will usually answer the question:
·         When?
·         What can I do six months from now?
·         What can I do six weeks from now?
·         What can I do today?

Some Examples of SMART Objectives :
Personal SMART Objectives
-          I will buy my house in July ,2015.
-          I will complete my MBA- Marketing by Sept,2015.
These two objectives are SMART.

Professional SMART Objectives

-          Increase the production of Metal Slitters by 20 % from previous Financial Year to Current Year.
