I always wondered to see that many people in the corporate
world are so successful and some which are very talented but not have the
enough cups in their table.
According to my experience in the corporate world for last
12~14 years, I feel following points are to be kept in mind to get success in
your professional life.
-Smart
work- Now the days gone when hard work is the only way to get success in
your professional life. Smart work is
today’s requirement.
-Spread
your legs – Keep your eyes and ear open.
Be multitasking because multitasking is the perfect mantra to sustain in
this changing and demanding corporate environment.
-If you have problem, do proper analysis and
homework, keep solutions handy before communicating it to your boss.
-Learn each and every day.
-Develop the faith of your boss in yourself.
-Don’t overreact to any situation before going to
its deep.
-Don’t show that you are getting frustrated to
your job or you are losing your interest.
if If there is a scope of buttering to your boss, do it in a smart way.
If ,any how, above solution does not work for you , always
remember, it is entirely your choice to stay within job or not.
Wandering in corporate jungles is today’s necessity for growth. When you get a offer after your interview, following things are to be kept in mind…………
1. Check the credentials of the company before putting your paper in your current organization because everything, which glitters is not gold.
2. Try to get in touch with any employee of your probable company and let us ask him/her about the company. You can find the employee through linked.com or brijj.com or you can find someone from your own resources.
3. Don’t make up your mind by just visiting the website or marketing of the company.
4. Once You have framed your mind to accept the offer and joined the new company. Then do not criticize your previous company in your new company.
5. First understand the environment of the new company, meet with colleagues and another person in new company.
6. On very initial days, don’t boast yourself that you can do that and this. First understand the working culture of the company.
7. Don’t excited when top management decided to give you whole department responsibility.
8. People already in a new company are hesitate to accept you, don’t afraid from this. Keep calm and do start interacting with people.
9. Try to understand the rules and regulation of the company.
10. Best of luck ! if you are joining another company.
Understanding of a corporate structure is very important to a new employee. Broadly, the management is divided into four categories
Top Management: Top management includes Chairman, Managing Director, Director, CEO (Chief Executive Officer), CFO (Chief Financial Officer), CTO(Chief Technological Officer).
Senior Management – Senior Management includes General Manager, Deputy General Manager, Assistant General Manager
Junior Management – Junior Management includes Sr. Engineer, Engineer, Sr. Executive, Executive, Jr. Engineer, Assistant Engineer, and Assistant etc.
Typical work experience of these levels if there is not any exceptional case. Most corporate prefers the experience in age as follows:
Top Management generally has the experience of more than 20+ Years.
Senior Management generally have the experience of 15 ~ 20 years.
Middle Management people have generally 8~15 years of experience.
Junior Management has the experience of 0~ 8 years.
I hope now you able to understand the organizational structure of a company with their age of experience. But there are many exception in corporate, to recruit the employees in higher position keeping in the mind of their ability and skills.
A popular motivational speaker was entertaining his Audience. He Said: The best years of my life were spent in the arms of a woman who wasn't my wife!
The audience was in silence and shock. The speaker added: And that woman was my mother!
Laughter and Applause!!!
A week later, a top manager trained by the Motivational speaker tried to crack this very effective joke At home. He was a bit foggy after a drink. He said loudly to His wife who was preparing dinner, The greatest years of my life were spent in the arms of a woman who was not my Wife!
The wife went; ahhhh! with shock and rage.
Standing there for 20 seconds trying to recall the second Half of the joke, the manager finally blurted out and I can't remember who she was!
By the time the manager regained his consciousness, he was on a hospital bed.
Moral of the story – Don’t copy if you can’t paste.
( This story is sent to me from one of my friend and I am sharing with you)
A cat got tired while chasing a Rat but could not able to catch it after all its efforts. At a point He asked Rat " I would not eat you if you tell me what makes you faster than me?" then Rat replied " You run for food and I run for life." Cat understood the difference purpose and Need. PURPOSE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN NEED.
There were two wood cutters- Ramu and Shyamu in a village. One day, they got an assignment of cut the 4 trees in a day. Both had one axe and they went to jungle. Ramu cut only two trees in a day and Shaymu cut 4 trees.
When they were returning from jungle, Ramu asked shyamu that how he able to cut the 4 trees in day and he managed to it only 2.
Then shaymu told Ramu that he worked on a very simple principle. After some time, when his axe became not as sharp he sat aside the tree and made his axe sharp and took some rest and again hit the axe into the trunk of tree. This simple exercise kept him fresh and axe sharpen.
Ramu told that he constantly hits his axe against the trunk and he did not care about taking rest and the sharpness of axe. He got the mantra of success and he thanked Shyamu to share the basic principle of working in a smarter way.
This scenario is fit for our corporate world too. There is nos. of hard worker we see each day but some smart worker takes all the credit. So , be a smart worker.
(यह महज एक कहानी नहीं हैं......................बल्कि सच्चाई है ...)
This story is sent to me from one of my friend and I strongly felt to share the same with my readers.
John & Paul are colleagues who work for a food products manufacturing company. While having a cup of coffee, John was sharing this story to Paul. .... “There’s an oft repeated tale about how certain monkey catchers (Madari) in India catch monkeys. It can be very difficult to corral these intelligent creatures, so hunters have used a more innovative method…trapping a monkey by enticing him. A small jar is placed at the base of a tree with nuts or other items which may attract the monkey’s curiosity.
The opening of the jar allows the monkey to place his hand in, but when he tries to withdraw it, he is unable to do so without letting go of the contents of the jar. Believe it or not, some monkeys will stay there with their hand in the jar until the hunter comes back to trap them! They are trapped because they are unwilling to let go of something they are doing which is working against them.
Then the madari takes the monkey to a city where he trains him, puts a rope around his neck and asks him to do various tricks. Monkey does those tricks and gets peanuts at the end of the day. He shares the peanuts with family and every one in his family likes the regular inflow of peanuts. Monkey starts the days as early as possible and keeps doing the tricks till the dusk. Few months, few years go by, the monkey gets old – his health and age do not permit such tiresome job over and over again. But he knows that he needs the peanuts to run his family. His family also got addicted to the peanuts although they all miss the freedom and the great time they used to enjoy in the jungle. As the monkey kids grow older, their needs also increase. The monkey demands more peanuts from his master. Master gives him more peanuts because the master doesn’t want to lose this monkey at any cost.
One day , the monkey meets another madari who promises him more peanuts and some bananas too. Monkey decides to leave his current employer and join the more-peanut- job. Monkey family is happier
now--- more pea nuts, more bananas…. What else they needed. The monkey gets even older and weaker and finds it tough to continue the job any more. But again the peanuts- he knows how important they are, to run his family. One morning, when the monkey reaches his work place, he is served a notice signed by his employer-- It was actually a termination letter.
There was one big problem – the younger monkeys had taken over his job . And the young group of monkeys was more energetic and even better performers. The monkey was very upset. He met his boss and reminded him of the time they spent together, the service that he provided – but all in vein. Monkey lost his job. Although the monkey got an opportunity once again to go back to the jungle where his actual life lies, where he can get back his freedom ---- but the peanuts – he knows he can’t live without them anymore. So, he starts looking for another madari. He was ready to compromise on the quantity of peanuts but unfortunately it was recession time. Most madaris were trying to get rid of the monkeys. After a long search, finally he finally gets a madari who offered him a job. The monkey was not happy this time as he knew that his job is not secured anymore but the peanuts compelled him to remain part of one or the madari’s team.
John now asks Paul –“What do you think? Was it a good decision that the monkey had taken – accepting peanuts in lieu of freedom?” Paul replies ---“Look John, it was a monkey’s story. If you look around and think about our own lives, you will find similarity between what the monkey did and what we do in our regular life. We often don’t like the job that we do. We also know that we can do far better things in life and can earn even higher. But the regular salary that we get at the end of every month prevents us from even thinking of other opportunities. We don’t give time to our families except for
Saturday/Sunday and feel happy about doing enough for our family. And only we know what the reality is. So, at least you and me shouldn’t blame the monkey.”
“The Universe has more than what we wish for --- and they do come only to those who work towards achieving it.”

Once PVNR (PV Narasimha Rao), L.K.Advani and Laloo Prasad Yadav were traveling in an auto rickshaw. They met with an accident and all three of them died. Yamraj ( Lord of heaven) was waiting for this moment at the doorstep of death. He asks PVNR and Advani to go to HEAVEN.. But, for Laloo, Yama had already decided that he should be sent to HELL.
Laloo is not at all happy with this decision. He asks Yama as to why this discrimination is being made. Yama agrees to this and asks all the three of them to appear for an English test. PVNR is asked to spell "INDIA" and he does it correctly. Advani is asked to spell "ENGLAND" and he too passes. It is Laloo's turn and he is asked to spell "CZECHOSLOVAKIA".
Laloo protests that he doesn't know English. He says this is not fair and that he was given a tough question and thus forced to fail with false intent. Having been a student of history (which the other two weren't), he now requested for all the 3 to be subjected to a test in history. Yama says OK but this would be the last chance and that he would not take any more tests. PVNR is asked: "When did India get Independence?".
He replied "1947" and passed. Advani is asked "How many people died during the independence struggle?" .He gets nervous. Yama asked him to choose from 3 options:100,000 or 200,000 or 300,000.Advani catches it and says 200,000 and passes. It's Laloo's turn now. Yama asks him to give the Name and Address of each of the 200,000 who died in this struggle. Laloo accepts defeat and agrees to go to HELL.
